The genius of correlating the current situation in the Arimaa World Championship with current world affairs goes to Karl. And of course Leo's artistic genius brings to view the same concept (mobs of rabbits bring down the old regime).

I don't know. I could see some taking offense at the allusion, like with that fashion designer's tweet (although that one did have a more blatant tie-in).

I think it's genius. I agree with aaaa that my first thought was to worry that some might not approve. However nobody regards the idea of the people rising up and demanding change in itself as offensive, so although things are getting quite ugly in some parts I don't think people will make any direct connections. It's witty in an Economist kind of way.

LOL. It was a bit of a shock when I got the email ;D
And another shock when I saw Chessandgo's post above ;D
Actually the ones most likely to take offense are the Arimaa top players who get compared to the old dictators, but all signs show they don't :)
