I haven't looked at the puzzles for a while, but for some reason puzzle 52 just showed up in my Google alert for Arimaa.  http://arimaa.com/arimaa/puzzles/show.cgi?p=p52

It appears to me that after the given key move for silver, Gold can delay the goal with cat to e2.  The extra two steps don't give Gold a win, but I can't make it goal in two or even three if Gold defends with elephant to e2.  I do, however, like the principle of puzzles which demand a split between attack and defense.

Yes I would introduce material gain puzzles, where the number of moves(turns) is hard to measure.
Both my puzzles (http://arimaa.com/arimaa/puzzles/show.cgi?p=p48 and http://arimaa.com/arimaa/puzzles/show.cgi?p=p51 as well this one should belong there ... it surely is not goal in 2).

There's no goal in 3 on move 29s.

No worries; keep trying.  We need more puzzles.  If I have one recommendation, it would just be to post into the analysis forum every time you add a new puzzle, not just so that folks can double-check, but also so that we all know there is something new to enjoy.  :)
