Title: Omar Syed it's an honour to know you

I just want to put into words something we've all said to ourselves at one point or another:

Good on you Omar!

The Arimaa community is an oasis of co-operation and camaraderie in a world of egotism and rivalry. If Arimaa gets popular it will owe as much to your vision and game designing skills as it will to your down-to-earth, accommodating nature. So thank you!

Let me second that sentiment, and amplify it on the basis of knowing Omar personally.  He is a rare type of man. To popularize a game requires more than a great game per se; it also requires a community that plays the game.  Omar's skill at community-building is one of Arimaa's great assets.

Thirded. Omar never ceases to amaze me by his patient and generous work and dedication. It must be overwhelming at times but he stands against all winds. More than once I saw him as a model to follow.

Wouldn't it be great if Arimaa had a yearly gathering similar to the US GO Congress? ( http://www.gocongress.org/).

When I played Go competitively (mostly back in the 90's) it was always an awesome, camaraderie filled, week-long immersion in everything Go. I met a lot of people I only knew of by name, both VIPs in the Go community (all over the world) and regular Joes I knew just through playing online. I would love to meet all of you someday during a similar event. I suppose that that's the intent of the "1st Arimaa Online Festival" only virtually and on a much smaller scale.

Dare to dream big.

Thanks for the nice comments guys; though I hardly deserve this.

I want to thank all of you for sticking around and helping to promote Arimaa.
