Title: Reconnaissance Blind Chess
Post by rabbits on Oct 5th, 2021, 8:25pm
Reconnaissance blind chess (RBC) is an imperfect information chess variant.  Players cannot see the opponent's pieces, but they get to sense the ground truth of a 3x3 patch of the board before making each move.

Bot penumbra won the official 2020 RBC competition, and here's a paper about how it worked: https://arxiv.org/abs/2110.01810

Oh wow, I see you are the author of the paper. That's pretty cool. Congrats on winning the 2020 RBC competition. I don't remember hear about this chess variant before. The mechanics to gain information about a subset of the board is pretty interesting.
