I am an advocate for TheMob vs TheGang. My plan, bluntly put, is to recruit people to play and petition the start of this great event.

I have started writing a bot in golang where each piece will do it's own thinking, and share plans with other(including opponent) pieces.http://golang.org/

I am 19, a member of The Winona Go Club, a GNU nerd(currently Linux, but thinking of Hurd), have just applied for colledge, and am aiming for at least a BS of Mathematics. I found Arimaa recently, and greatly enjoy it.

Welcome Nazgand!

I wrote my bot in Golang!  I like the language a lot, but my bot could use quite a bit of work still....  Maybe I'll dive into that again sometime this summer...  I really like the idea of having each piece think for itself!

Even if TheMob vs. TheGang doesn't pan out, you should consider participating in this year's Arimaa World League!

Welcome to the Arimaa community.

Thanks for reminding me about the Go language. I had looked at it about a year ago. It is really moved along since then. A language designed by Ken Thompson and backed by Google can't go wrong, right? Reminds me a lot of when Java was getting started.

Keep up posted on your bot. I don't think anyone had taken this approach where each piece thinks for itself.

I thought I may as well announce that my bot, Prey, is indefinitely suspended of development until I finish Star Trek: The Next Generation. Luckily, I have VLC, and am able to watch at 4x the regular speed. Huzzah, addictions!
