Contest: Win prizes for correctly predicting the outcome of the games during the 2011 Arimaa World Championship finals.
Prizes: In each game the spectator who correctly predicts the winning player and comes closest to predicting the number of moves for the game will win the prize for that game. In case of ties the spectator who submitted the prediction earlier will win the prize. Predictions must be submitted before the scheduled start time of the game. The prize for each game will be determined by dividing the Prize Fund for the 'Spectator Contest' by the number of games in the finals.
When: The predictions can be made on games in the finals of the World Championship Tournament and not during the preliminaries. Participants will be notified by email when they can enter predictions. Predictions must be submitted before the scheduled start time of the game. In case of ties the spectator who submitted the perdiction earlier will win the prize.
Where: The contest participants will submit their predictions through the Internet using a web form.
Registration: Spectators must register before the deadline of 6PM EST Monday February 14th, 2011 so they can be notified of when to make the predictions. All participants are expected to make a contribution of $10 USD to the prize fund. If this would be a hardship for you, you may request to have it waived. If you find out later that you are unable to participate, a refund of the registration fee can be requested before the event starts.
Note: Players may also register to predict. However players will not be allowed to predict or win a prize on their own games.
