Gnobot's Gold Advantage

Gnobot has been playing a series of games against other bots in gold-silver pairs.  A quick check of Gnobot's history page (through game 23280) showed me 23 such pairs of games.  In 10 pairs the same bot won both games.  Of the 13 pairs the bots split the games, Gold won both games 9 times and Silver won both games only 4 times.  This lopsidedness is not statistically significant: a reuslt that extreme or moreso will occur 27% of the time by chance, but I can't resist speculating on what might be a trend:

If I remember correctly, the majority of the past year's botbashing has been done as Gold.  Is it possible that Gnobot's opening book is therefore only really helping when Gnobot is Gold?  Just a thought...

That's an interesting theory.  I know that it is better against bomb_blitz than it is against bomb_CC because blitz got so much more bashing attention.  Since both bomb's have the same opening setups, Gnobby often assumes it can follow a blitz game, but finds that the opponent deviates after a few moves because it is actually playing CC.
