Hello, I was testing my bot and it marked this as a bad move... Code: 8b +-----------------+ 8| d r . c . . . . | 7| h r r r r c r r | 6| . D e . m r d h | 5| . R . . E . D H | 4| . . C . . . . . | 3| . . X R . X . . | 2| H . . M . C . . | 1| R . R R . R R R | +-----------------+ a b c d e f g h |
| my move is rc7n ec6x rc8s Gameserver: Bad Move: bad step rc7n ec6x rc8s got signal USR1 about to clean up leaving the game I understand it's obviously not the smartest move, but I have a very dumb bot right now. I also am aware of making at least one move each turn, and I know you can't move north and then back south and say that's the end of your turn. However, the way it is stated in the official rules on this page: http://arimaa.com/arimaa/learn/rulesIntro.html "A player can pass some of the steps, but at least one step must be taken on each turn to change the game position." The game position in this situation is changed since the elephant is killed after the rabbit moves north. Can someone elaborate on this one, thanks.

By the way, I put the '.' (periods) in the board so it would show up correctly in the forum message.

| Rabbits cannot move backwards. Just like Pawns/Soldiers in (Chinese) Chess, for example.
