This is a visualization of all games played in the 2015 World Championship between finalists. (It includes games from every round, but only where both players lasted past the 6th round.) If there as an arrow from A to B, it means that A beat B. I input the data by hand, so I apologize if there are any mistakes. The picture makes it appear that clyring beat fritzlein. This is the result of two different lines superimposed on each other. Actually: - clyring only played one game against fritzlein and fritzlein won. - fritzlein and chessandgo each won one game against each other. I used the "dot" program: http://www.graphviz.org Here is my input data: http://pastebin.com/uySWaGkr The program tries to: - Minimize the number of arrows pointing up. (Most arrows should point down.) - Minimize edge crossings. - Put connected components close to each other, but not too close. Not counting the top four players, I think the image does a half-decent job of communicating the relative strength of the players.
