Hello all. Just discovered Arimaa acouple of days ago on wikipedia. started with reading about watson, which of course brought of deep blue from like 12 years ago. which then proceeded to mention this obscure game that no one seems to have heard of. I for one am quite intrigued by an obscure game no one has heard of. easier to beat people with . any way, if you could tell yet I am quite fascinated by the field of artificial intelligence. I've been programming off and on, unfortunately more off than on, for like 7 years. I love c++ even though I'm not as good as I should be. and have been looking for awhile for a good reason to dig into A.I. the bot page had me sold when it mentioned that all I have to worry about is my bot, the interface does the rest. hopefully I can get a good crack going soon. abit of a long winded hello, here's hoping I stick around .

Welcome! Looking forward to what you come up with. While Watson won't be competing directly in the Arimaa Challenge, it appears that it will have a secondary benefit - namely bringing in some new bot developers and maybe even players that stumble upon Arimaa while looking up info on Watson.
