Bot Ladder workings

Gday,
I'm working my way up the second tier of the bot ladder, and have defeated bot_Bomb2005P1 twice and bot_Clueless2005P1 once, but they are still listed as "Bots above me". How many times do I have to beat them to move on?

oh yeah, and another thing, when I beat them my rating stayed the same even though they have higher ratings than me. How come?

ok, ignore me, I'll answer my own question. Unrated mode is turned on! I have no recollection of turning it on, so I must have done that while trying to do something else :-S
