Arimaa and soccer

Sometimes in soccer, when one or two team members receive the red card and go to the shower, we say that "it's good, because the team starts to play faster". And sometimes it's now even a lie!... Does anybody feels the same about arimaa? Have you ever tried to convince yourself it was good to lose any stone because your moves became "more fast"?...

Sometimes I can see that the two turns my opponent is about to spend pulling and killing my rabbit gives me time to set up a solid attack in another quadrant. Then I can tell that in some sense the capture is slowing them down, allowing me a relative speed advantage. That's the closest I've come to the feeling you describe.

...Your own stones can get in the way of the rabbits, requiring you to push them to make way. If you start to lose stones, at the same time it's easier to take rabbits across the board... It doens't mean it's a good situation, tough! You probably don't feel this because you don't lose as much stones as I do! But, seriously... We might even be able to create a small differential equations dynamical system model for this!!... The stones are like gas molecules, the fixed 4 moves is the kinetic energy...
