Dear Omar,

Do you think it would be a good idea to change the current generic bots over to the computer championship time control so their games can count in the qualifications?

Not necessary, just a suggestion.

I strongly recommend we come to an agreement on a standard time control for serious matches, and make everything the same.  I would recommend 2 minutes per move.

I think the 2 min per move time control is good for the bots. I would even perfer that for the human games, but I don't think others would be able to fit such long games.

I still don't buy that.  I'm out every single day of the week that we can schedule matches, and I was still able to find a time with the new scheduling mechanism.  I think most people, who have at least one night free, should be able to fit in a 2-minutes-per-move game.  This is a World Championship.

And my weekend is your weekend.  I'll play in the middle of the night if I have to, in order that a reasonable rate of play is possible.  I really think it hurts the game greatly to play at under 2 minutes a move.  (I personally would prefer 3 minutes, but I know that some would think this boring or slow.  To me, the game gets more interesting the more options you have time to consider.)

Well, I've already fixed the time controls for this years WC games. But next year, around September, lets discuss this again and have a vote on it. Please remind me if I forget.
