I just found out that David Fotland's Go program (Many Faces of Go) has won the 2008 World Computer Go Champion for 19x19 and 9x9 boards. For those who might not know David Fotland is also the developer of the Arimaa program called Bomb which has won all of the previous computer championship tournaments. http://www.smart-games.com/

This is absolutely awesome; congratulations to David Fotland. Especially after Mogo had a well-publicised 9-stones handicap victory over a strong pro. I wish a similar feat to Many Faces of Go
