All a Team Captain basically does is encourage new players to join the club, rally the team, and determine who will play on what table in matches. Well, I'm up for being the Rockies first captain.

Thanks for helping organize, ChrisB.  I'm probably available to play all spring, so let me know when you need me.

Greetings current and potential future members of the Rockies!

It looks like league play could start as early as this coming April.  Right now the team captains are polling their teams regarding their interest and availability in playing this spring, to determine the numbers of games per match.

So, if you're interested in playing this spring, please reply, indicating about how often you might like to play.

Fritzlein already indicated he's probably available all spring and could play if needed.

As for me, I'm generally available and would prefer to play in about one-half of the matches or so, but could play more often if needed.

So, we already have one game covered, and two games in a pinch.

Also, additional players, from beginner to top-rated, are more than welcome to join this very fine team!

Thanks!

Boulder, CO; so Rockies for me.  I'm available all spring for up to 1-2 games a week.  It will be great to have some real-time play against humans.

Thanks, camelback!  Now we have four players who have recently expressed interest in playing in some of the matches:

     Fritzlein
     ChrisB
     ngerhart
     camelback

We're off to a good start, but could use some more players.

Go Rockies!

Hello, newer player from New Mexico requesting to join.  I can see the southern range of the rockies from my house, so this must be the right team Smiley

I have a pretty open schedule most weekends so I could probably play a game or two during events.

Awesome!  Welcome to the team.  If you have been following the discussions about the salary cap, you will know that the Rockies presently suffer from a severe lack of flexibility.  Your availability will give our captain a lot more strategic options.  Thanks for signing up!

Great! Good to hear you're likely available to play, starjots.  Now we have eight members, five of which have recently expressed an interest in playing:

     Fritzlein
     ChrisB
     ngerhart
     camelback
     starjots

This is looking pretty good, but we could still use more players.

I'm thinking of using the private message feature provided by this forum to discuss our lineups.  (One could access this feature by clicking on the "you have X messages" at the top of this page.)  It looks like megajester will put out the player list with ratings around April 12, with the games starting the next week.  So we'll need to start our heavy discussions of our lineup very soon after the 12th.  If anyone has any preliminary thoughts, please send a private message to me and the other team members.

Besides the five members I mentioned above, other members of our fine team are:

     omar
     ice
     722caasi

Thanks!

Hello all. I would like to play for the Rockies Smiley. I'll be able to play mostly on weekends and late Friday afternoons. Hopefully I'll gain some human vs human experience, which I'am in dire need of at the moment.

Welcome to the Rockies, FireBorn and Aamir!

We now have 10 members.  Next week we'll need to decide which three of us will play in round 1.

I'd like to join team Rockies.  I'm from the Seattle area.

In the past I have been guilty of resigning a lot of games, but I'll try not to resign when I'm representing a team.  Even fair losses are worth 1 point, right?
