no, wait - actually, I was wrong, he did have only 2 opponents, PMertens and SeaNICK- PMertens 1:1, and SeaNICK 0:2. 
I agree that it will depend on the general consensus - also whether or not Paul even wants to continue .. the prize money is already commited- so I have to give it to whoever has the most wins at the end of the day. if no more games are played, that would default to karl...

Wow, I just returned late last night - what happened here!? I can't figure out who said what to whom, but is there any chance that both players will return after a few weeks time? How about if Jean and Paul return by the end of August they can resume the tournament? If not, then we'll scratch the games at on September 1.
Did I read that correctly that Paul is forfeiting his games correctly? Only Jean's games are currently crossed out.

I needed a moment to clear my mind about this whole matter.
What I learned - and already knew but still had to learn once again - is that overreacting is a stupid thing to do ...
That being said I will take make my previous resignation from that tourney.
Off Topic or not:
Jean is right about one thing: we are here to have fun
I still have no clue how such a simple and short exchange of words between people that did respect each other (at least I had the opinion) could lead to such a totally senseless result.
Personally I liked playing with/against Jean a lot, but if he wants to leave then so be it ... I will not ask him twice to reconsider.
It is a pity that he did not solve this by talking directly to Fritzlein but it is his choice to make.

Thanks for assuming the responsibility of running the tourney for us, seanick. Yes, it is most fair not to include Jean's games in the tournament score, but good to keep them around in strikethrough in case he comes back. He doesn't have to come back, and may be unlikely to come back, but we should let him know that it is possible and he's welcome.
I hope that we can fill in the full table with unscheduled games more easily than we were able to for last year's blitz tourney: If a lot of games don't get played you may have to send the $30 back to Jean anyway.
